Message from the President
“Living a Full Life”
At JAPIE, we strive to contribute to the creation of a dynamic society where each person is valued for their unique attributes, and where individuals are able to carve out a space to let their talents shine. We believe that education can act as a positive force to nurture the keen minds and competencies that allow people to live proactively and generate positive change, and we support the development of such education through research.
As a cutting-edge research institute, we put the expertise of our research advisors to good use in service to our mission of providing evidence-based research and information in the field of education. Most people have some experience with education and learning, a fact that opens these areas to a wide range of perspectives and opinions. Here at JAPIE, we are committed to making a positive contribution to education in the domains of practice and policy alike. In collaboration with research advisors who are well-versed in areas like pedagogy and psychology, we conduct surveys, research, and consulting that are rooted in the latest data and insights.
The times and the environments in which we operate are in constant flux, but in the midst of a changing world we will continue to work in pursuit of a society made up of vibrant individuals with the ability to act autonomously.
SATOH Yoshiko, President
Profile of Our President: SATOH Yoshiko
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Keiō University, Satoh worked as a regular company employee while simultaneously preparing to take the examination to become a certified tax accountant. After passing her exam, she joined an accounting firm. There, she gained a wealth of experience in general business matters, including handling human resources and accounting for client companies, as well as in more specialized areas like incorporation.
Satoh spent several years of her childhood in the United States, which would spark a lifelong curiosity for other cultures and ways of thinking. Meeting and entering into dialogue with researchers in the field of education satisfied her thirst for knowledge and became a source of inspiration. When she learned that such specialists were seeking an arena in which to pursue their research and share their discoveries with the world, Satoh decided to put her business know-how to use in founding an educational research institute in Japan.
